On Thursday, December 18th, 1975, the Grade Eight students in Mr. Murphy's class, from St. Joseph's in Bowmanville, had a big Christmas party for the stu- dents of the Simcoe Hall Grippled Children's School in Oshawa. This marked the conclusion of the program during which they had been working with these children, visiting and helping them in their classrooms. The Grade three students also performed for the children by singing and giving a demonstration of square dancing. In the annual Spring Flower Show held in the spacious Automotive Building at the C.N.E. grounds in Toronto, from March 10th to March 14th, there will be on display four acres of gardens, large and small, for apartment balconies, spring, greenhouse, and indoor, vegetables, herbs, a wild-flower wood and child- ren's gardens. We heard recently of a reader who called an area bookstore and asked the clerk if the store carried a certain book. A day-long seminar at Durham College will have Ontario Ombudsman Arthur Maloney speaking about the new office, and receiving complaints, MPP Doug Mof- fatt announced yesterday. Mr. Maloney and his staff will meet with students of the College an afternoon in Jan- uary, and the general public will be received at night. The final details have yet to be decided. Mr. Maloney is an officer 6f the Ontario legisla- ture who represents indivi- duals and organizations who are involved in disputes with the province, or with provin- cial agencies. Thoroughly grease two 10 x 15 x 1-inch jelly roll pans. Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in prepared biscuit mix, cherries and nuts. Spread in prepared pans.
