Senior Vikings'Phil Krauter Explodes "BASKET-BRAWL"' AT BOWMANVILLE Cobourg West Senior Vikings aren't planning on playing another exhibition basketball game in Bowmanville this season. Once is more than enough, they say. In any event, they'd flot likely be in-vited back anyway. The 50-40 loss Vikinlgs suffered there isn't what irked them'but the poor officiating and the unchecked rough play bothered them no end. Cobourg's hypher Phil Krauter touched off a ruckus late in the game when he1 attacked Bowmanville's largest player, Nick Wind, who was huddled with the rest of the home squad. Wind, naturally . attempted to get back at Krauter. Coler heads, led by Viking coach Art Dalgarno, finally prevailed and, the game was played to its conclusion. Co-captains Daryl Broughton and Phil Krauter, along with Jim Nairn, ail were ejected during the game which was marred by :en technical fouls against the West team. 1Tied 16-16 at the end of the orderly ffrst hall, Vikings feil behind 28-27 in the third quarter and dropped further back in the fourth period as they became more frustrated. Broughton topped Cobourg West in scoring with.16 points. Kirk Kemp paced Bowmanville with 17 points. In other games of the tripleheader, the West Junior Vikings breezed to a 57-36 verdict, ovçr Bowmanville while the Midget Vikings coasted to a 61-24 win. Ed's Note - Any replies from B.H.S.? JR.
