Hampton Gardens Down One Game in Markham I Hampton Gardens Minor Pee-Wee hockey teamn over- powered Markham on Jan. 31, winning their fîrst play-off game 3-0. Barry Cullen seored the first goal in the f irst period assisted by Bill Hogarth. Two third period goals were scored by- Rick Erwin and Ed Osborne'. Assists went ta Rab Siggius, Brian Ruddy and Chris -Dyck. It was a campletely differ- eut story when the Hampton Gardeus crew travelled ta Markham. -A fîred-up Mark- ham -teamn outplayed Bow- manville, coming with a 4-0 win. Last Thursday, Markham came ta tawn and outscored Bowmanville 5-3 lu overtime ýlay In the fîrst period, Rab iggins scored unassisted. Frank Real Estate won their second match in the semi-finals over Spencer Real Estate 4 to 3. Frank's started early with two quick goals from Gary Wilson with John Hughes and Steve Burns assisting and the second from Kim Rogers with Paul Forsey and Ted Brown assisting. Spencer's got on the board when John Vance scored on an unassisted long shot. The second period saw Spencer's tie the match with the ony goal of the period by Dave Green with Irv Gill and Bob Hellamn assisting. Two goals in the third by Frank's put them well enough in the ead y Paul Forsey with Ron Baker assisting and Steve Burns unassisted. Spencer's fought back with one goal from Wayne Paeden with Bob Hellam assisting. The second game was ail D & R Sports as they defeated Brooks B.P. 7 to 3. The first saw D & R score the only goals of the period with D oug Crough scoring on an una ssist- ed effort and then Mike Corneil scoring a pair with Larry Perris getting assists on both goals. D & R carried on with the only goal in the second when J oe Balson tallied from George Sains- bury.
