8 The Canadian Statesman, BOwM OBITUARIES MRS. FRANCES EVELYN SKINNER A resident of Oshawa for more than 40 years, Mrs. Frances Evelyn Sknner, died suddel at ber residence, 124 Park Rd. N., Oshawa, Friday, Feb. 6, 1976. The former Frances Evelyn Wootten was born July 30, 1906 in Andover, N.B., a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Noble Wootten.1 Prior to living in Osbawa she had resided in Graven- hurst for several years., A member of Chrst Mem- orial Church, Mrs. Skinner was also very active in the McLaughlin Art Gallery, with the Y.W.C.A. of which she was a past president, and witb the ladies section of the Oshawa, Golf Club. Her first husbandwas the late Dr. William S. Milîman, and hier second husband was the late Frederick U. ,Skinner. She is survived b y two daughters Mrs. J.A. Wilkinson (Beverley) of Brampton; Mrs. P.W. Aggett (Gayle) of Whit- by; a step-daugbter, Mrs. D. Sproull (Sylvia) of Enniskil- len; a step-son F James Skinner of Philadeiphia, U.S.A.; two sisters, ers. Isabel Beamish of Ottawa; Mrs. H. Reynolds (Emma) of North Bay and 12 grandchild- ren. 1A brother, George Wootten of Sudbury, died before bier. Mrs. Skinner rested at the Armstrong Funeral Home, Oshawa., Service was held in the chapel on Monday witb interment in Mount Lawn Cemetery. Rev. HENRY (BAL) BEEMER KNAP Following a six week's illness, Henry -(Hal) Beemer Knap died in Oshawa General Hosital, on Friday, January 23rd,11976. He was in bis 68th year. Rorn in Yonkers, New York, U.S.A., the son of Edgar Day and Helen (Gartsbore Beem- erii Knap, hie was educated at St. Andrew's Colle ge, Toronto. On May 2lst, 1937 he married Muriel G. Bengry. Residing bere for seven years, hie had previously resided in Toronto. Employed as a sound engineer witb De Haviland, D.R. Fee Co., Stronberg-Carl- son, and Mosport Park Ltd., lie was a member of tbe Britisb Empire Motor Club and the Canadian Race Com- munications Association. He was a member of tbe Anglican Church. Left to mburn is passing is bis wife Muriel. Reverend Basil Long con- ducted the funeral service on Monday,ý from the Nortbcutt Elliott Funeral Home. Crema- tion followed witb burial_ of- ashes in Bowmanville Cem- etery. Among the floral offerings received were ones from the British Empire Motor Club, and the Canadian Racing Communications Association. MRS. GLADYS M. WADDELL A liîe member of the W.M.S, Gladys- Muriel Waddell, aged 84, died in the Community Memorial Hos pital,, Port Perry, on Sunday, January 25tb, 1976, following a heart attack. Mrs. Waddell faced many phiysical difficulties, but tbese could not dim bier ife whicb was lived to sucb fullness. She asked for littie, but gave abundantly, to ail wbo knew bier. Ber busbandlber son and, bier daugters knew a home tbat was bult on a solid foundation, 'wbere love and barmony and tranquility prevailed. 11 She leaves to mourn bier passinig, bier husband, George, four daugbters, Agnes (Mrs. E. R. Woodyard), Margaret (Mrs. Bruce Hancock), both of Orono, Eunice (Mrs. Gordon Smitb), Coîborne, and Betty (Mrs. Mel Mc.Gee), Green- bank. She was predeceased by bier only son Flying Officer George Alfred in 1944. Sbe was dearly loved by 19 grand-, cbildren and 31 great grand- children. :Rev. Roundel l, Greenbank, officiated at the funeral service beld on Tuesday at tbe McDermott - Panabaker funeral chapel, Port Perry. There, were many floral tributes, and donations were made in hier memory, to tbe Canadian Cancer Society. Interment will be in Orono Cemetery.
