GEORGE EDWARD McNAIR Following a six month's illness, George Edward McNair, aged 44, died on Friday, March l9th, 1976, in Clarke Township. Born in Stouffville, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willis MeNair, of Newcastle. On August l4th, 1954, he married Pauline Helen Baker. A resident of R.R.3 New- castle, most of lis life, he was employed for 22 years as a mechanic at Syd Lancaster's garage, R.R. 2 Newcastle, and for 21 years he also managed a mail route. Besîdes his wife, a son Stanley Edward, survives. The funeral service was held at the Morris Funeral Chapel with Reverend Mont- gomery, Newtonville officiat- ing. Donations to the Heart Fund attested to the esteem in which the deceased was held. Spring Inter'ment in Newt- onville Cemetery. WILLIAM TKATCH A sub-contractor for Bathe and MeLellan Ltd., William Tkatch, died atc the Oshawa General Hospital, Thursday, March 25, 1976, following a week's illness. He lived at 826 Simcoe St. N., Oshawa. Born Oct. 14, 1895 ini the Ukraine, he was a son of the late Mr. and, Mrs. John Tkatch. He was married July 14, 1917 at Canora, Sask., and had lived in Oshawa for 30 years. He had formerly lived in Port Arthur and Saskatche- wan. A member of the Ukrainian Preshyterian Church, he is survîved by his wife, the former Mary Ambrosychuk; a daughter, Mrs. Jacob Dennis (Nelhe) of Oshawa; a son, John, of Oshawa; three sis- ters, Mrs. John Sheremeto (Polly) of B.C. Mrs. Roy Ostrowercha (Mary) of Cal- gary; Mrs. George Zukowich (Anne) of Florida. four bro- thiers, Nick, of Bowmanville; Mitro, of Sutton; John, of Wakow, Sask.; and four gr andchildren. Mr. Tkatch rested at the Armstrong Funeral Home, Oshawa, Services were held in the Ukrainian Presbyterian Church, 486 Siîncoe St. S., Monday with interment in Oshawa Union Cemetery. Pastor Adams officiated. Memorial donations to the Ontario Heart Foundation would be appreciated. ELIZABETH VILLE Church services were held as usual. Rev. R. Bartlett spoke on "The Minîstry of the Thomn". The choirý sang an anthem. MArs. M. Davis assist- ed with thie serviÀces. On Tuesday, Mrs. Ken Trew held a quilting and had about a dozen quilting. It being the sehool break we had extra visitors. Mrs. Jackson Pea- cock, Kapuskasing, Mrs. A. Trew, Millbrook, Mrs. M. Walker and her littie grand- son, Jason Greer, Mrs. Ross Beatty,, sisters of Mrs. Trew Mrs. W. Boyko and Michael, Mrs. W. Deremer, Orono, daughters of Mrs Trew and Mre, Barry Barton and Jef- fery attended. A family gath- ering as well as the usual quilters. We spent a nice day with them. Mr. and Mrs. Jackson Peacock and the four boys have been spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Peacock. While here they have visited many of their relatives. Many shopping trips to Oshawa or Peterborough have been made during the break by various -familles in the area. The bowling club wound up the winter season this week.
