The Senior Citizens heid their monthiy meeting iast Wednesday and are proud to report a very good turnout and a very productive meeting, Among other things, they have purchased a bingo machine with ail the backup material and soon it wiii be set up and the first bingo party organiz- ed. Cribbage boards and dart boards are aiso now on hand. A proposai by the Tyrone Athietic Association to pur- chase the oid Community Hall together with the Senior Cîzens and the Lodges and turn it into a drop-in centre for young and old was'received and wiil be given consider- ation. The main probiem is the huge heating bill due to poor insulation. After the officiai. business was conciuded, some of the members played cards for a littie while and others sat together chatting. Everybody went home at 5 p.m. Tyros Paper Drive Aif Knowiton reports that he bas found a taker for news- papers and the Tyros wiii therefore hoid their paper drive on Saturday, April 24, 1976. This is the only way the littie feliows have been able to raîse funds in the past and we hope that their drive wii be successful. Mr. Knowlton says he needs some aduit volun- teers with -ton trucks and he is a littie pessimistic whether he can get them. Anyone who can spare a couple of hours on Saturday, April 24th and has a '/2-ton truck, please cail Aif Knowlton at 263-2764. Tyrone Athletic Association Last Saturday's dance was a resounding success and show- ed the support of the whoie village toWards the effort the Association, is putting into organizing basebali and soccer in the area. Everything came off without a hitch and the food served at 11:30 pm. got most of the praise. That was the resuit of many mothers pitching in and a great co-ordinating job done by Mrs. Arlene Yeo. Let's hope it will turn out just as weiI the next time, October 9th. A letter has been received from the supplier of the uniforms advising that some of themn are compiete and are now at the printers to add the crest. Euchre Winners Mr. Hubert Fox won lst prize with the unusually high score of 96. Second prize went to Mrs. Myrtle Alsop with 90, third prize, to Mrs. Olive Gimblett with 89, fouth prize to John Griffin with 86 and fifth prize to Ann English with 80. Low score was won by Mrs. Laverne Taylor with 42 and Dave Hall wNýith 48, Attendance was gcood with 72 people participating in the f un. Spring Clean-up The Hall Board would like to get some grass seed sown in the park pretty soon but there are a lot of rocks and stones to be lifted before this can be done. They would be grateful if the coaches couidarrange for their teams'to be at the park on Friday, April 16th at 9 a.m. to help with the dlean up. They could use a couple of tractors as well. Mr. Clifford Trewin and Mark, Bowmanvilie, were Sunday afternoon visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Trewin, William and Paul, and Mrs. Miidred Anderson. Mr. W. Arwin, Brighton, visited with the Ted Butterys last week. Mrs. John Sim, Bowmanville, had Saturday supper with the Butterys. Mr. John Liptay Jr's daughter had the Youth Group from St. Joseph School, Bow- manville, to see how- the M'ichael Strenge, Mississauga. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Paterson have just returned from their two week holiday in West Palm Beach, Fiorida. They visitedMrs. Paterson's bro- ther, Mr. Chester Galiagher. Mrs. Lloyd Ashton accom- panied Mrs. Ivan Sharp, Mrs. Adam Sharp and Mrs. Ross Sharp of Enniskillen and attended- the 4-H Club'ý Ach- ievement Day atCarke High School on Saturday. Fe eling listiess?
