Was Two Years OId May l3th S AL EM The pot luck supper and "Meet your neighbor" meet ing of the Salem unit of St. Paul's U.C.W. was held on Tuesday, May the llth, with about forty ladies attending. Af ter a delicious supper the meeting was turneci over to Bey. West and Mr. AI. Anderson, of the "Bev's Floral, Art Shop". Bey, gave a very interesting demonstration of flower arranging, making six varied arrangements with very deft fingers. These were afterwards drawn for with names that had been collected earlier. The meeting closed informally. On the 5th of May the U.C.W. ladies sponsored a shower for Miss Roberta Craig, who is being marr 'ied on May 22nd to Mr. David Quinn, of, North Bay. Thirty five ladies and girls'attended and Roberta was helped opening her gifts by Mrs. Ruth Geddes, and her sisters Miss- es Jennifer and Lisa Craig. Sbe received many beautiful and useful things and thanked the ladies appropriately. Two contests arranged by Mrs. Bessie Welsh followed and a delicious lunch was served and a social hour enjqyect. Best wishes for her future were wished by ail of those present. Mrs. Lela Blackburn is spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Blackburn and family, Kemptville. A number from Salem attended the rural bowling league's banquet and dance on Saturday, May the 15th. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Murdoch and daughter, Prince Edward Island, are visiting relatives, prior to the Craig-Quinn wedding on the 22nd. Mrs. Gerda Miller, Mr. Joel Reynolds and Mr. Bob Davies, Edmonton, are also home for the wedding.'
