Elliott and on Monday Mr. and Mrs. George Carscadden of Thornbury and Mrs. Irene Dunber of Peter- borough called. Mrs. T. Stevens spent the holiday weekend with her son and his wife Dr. and Mrs. John Steven of Ottawa. Mr. and Mrs. Garland Cathcart called on Mr. and Mrs. D. Budd, also Mrs. Belck who was visiting there, of Port Hope recently. Mr. and Mrs. R. Elliot and Mrs. Dunber of Peterborough spent a day in Toronto with Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Elliott recently. Kendal Public School child- ren presented their spring concert on Wednesday after- noon, May 26th. All parents and interested adults were invited. Kendal Recreational Dance was held Saturday evening in the Town Hall at Newcastle. Sunday guests with Mr. and Mrs. Martin Foster were her mother,! Mrs. Awde of Jarvis and Mrs. Poole of Port Hope. Mrs. Dan Keane and child- ren and Mrs. Wilson, all of Scarborough, spent last Fri- day with Miss Catherine Stewart. Mr. and Mrs. A) Wagar and family spent the weekend with his brother and family Mr. and Mrs. Mark Wagar. Church service was well attended Sunday morning it being Sunday School Anniver- sary and Award Sunday. The pupils took the service in prayer, singing, repeating scripture and swod dril competition. Then came the presenting of awards and crests. There were four crests which are presented for the year on attendance and high- est merits. The United Church Board Crest presented by Mr. Ron Frank, chairman of the Church Board to the senior girls went to Pamela Frank. The Maurice Bradley crest presented by Mr. Mark Wagar to the senior boys went to Danny Wagar. The Webster crest in memory of Mrs. Webster's mother, Mrs. Ellis, presented by Danny Webster to the junior boys went to Randy Frank. The U.C.W. crest presented by Mrs. R. Elliott to the junior girls went to Lisa Hoy and Patricia Frank who had tied for first place had over 30 Sundays in attendance. Also there were Bibles given to the same children. Mr. Wagar had five trophies for his own class for the five highest standing in points. There were 10 children who had perfect attendance during the past year. Each of the ten received a pen, their names were David, Pam, Patricia and Randy Frank, Lisa and Heather Hoy, Tanya and Peter Fonk, Karen, Kennedy and Tammy Farrow. The Sunday School picnic was held Sunday afternoon on the Public School grounds. The rain kept off during the races and other events. All winners received fine prizes. A bounteous picnic supper was served under the shelter of the school porch when the shower started. All enjoyed a well planned afternoon.
