This was a Blessing of Seeds, Animais, etc. A dainty lunch was served many from this district at- tended. Service sponsored by St. John's Church, Blackstock, held on Sunday, June 6. Mr. Jack Taylor and friend, Oshawa called on friends in the village enroute to Peter- borough during the week. Mr. and Mrs. G. Dean and family attended the Brooklmn Fair on Saturday and report a splendid crowd. attended the Sports and Horse Show. Several in the village have had wells drilled. Some report water at 89 feet, others 100 ft., whicb is considered good for this district. Mr. and Mrs. E. Csizmadia and Mr. and Mrs. F. Holroyd are two neighbors mentioned. Mr. B. Baker called on Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Baker and family recently. >1 officially end a very success- fui season for the Bowman- ville Band and it was indeed pleasant to, see almost ail of the band members with 50 many of their parents present. Vice President Howard Anyan called the group to order and directed the traffic past the buffet. Unfortunately, some of the young maIe members happened to be at the wrong end of the uine up and consequentiy they missed some of the great variety of good food. But, we think, perhaps they made up for that by enjoying lots of dessert. During the meal, many snapshots of the recent Fiorida trip were circulated and a few candid shots caused a grin or two. At the conclusion of such a deliclous meai Mr. Tremeer thanked the parents for their great assistance ail year and Mr. 'Wolff announced bis pleasure la getting past May 3lst without a resignation from the B.H.S. music staff. This announcement brought forth a hearty round of applause. Mr. Jack Munday, as a chaperone, remarked on the Florida trip and compliment- ed the band members on being such a fine group. Those present then adjourn- ed to the B.H.S. theatre for viewing films and slides of the Spring excursion to Florida. Special mention must be made of the excellent film and commentary by "The Ron Chow Production Co." Each member of the band received a lovely coloured picture as a souvenir. This photograph of the band was taken by Rick James, as they posed in front of the Disney- world Castle. On Monday, a large colour- ed photo of the band in action at Disneyworld was presented to Music Director Elliott Tremeer. Lt was to have been presented during the Wednes- day evening festivities but did not* arrive ln time. It was an enlargement from one of Principal Earl Woiff's colored slides.
