On Sat., July l7th a Bow- manville entry skipped by one of our younger bowlers, Mike Reynolds, won their 3 games in Oshawa and were only a few points from winning the tropby as tbey finished second in the 32 team tournarnent. Mike's dad, Dave was lead and his mother, Helen viced to, make it quite a family affair. On Sunday afternoon and evening, the Men's section bosted a Mixed Trebles event for the Brock Trophy. There was a strong entry ist witb teams from Oshawa, Whitby, Port Hope and Lindsay and three Bowmanville teams skipped by Harold Bennett, Ross Hall and Clarence Oke. Once again the bowling was great and the High 3 Garne winner and the tropby winner was J. Authors and bis Oshawa Team with a score of 43. Also winning 3 games with a score of 40 was last. year's trophy winner E. Carswell of Oshawa. High 2 Garne Winner was J. Anderson of Oshawa witb 47, followed by C. Oke of Bowmanville with 44. Les Langs was lead on tbis tearn with Gwen Coombes vice. Higb 1 Garne Winner was S. Elsden of Lindsay witb a score of 49. Visiting teams at both tbese tournaments were loud in tbeir praises of tbe improve- ments made in the Bowman- ville Club and greens in the past year. Next tournament - Carter Family Trophy, July 28.
