4 The Canadian Statesman, llowmanville, July 21, 1976 ENNISKILLEN If you have flot heard the good news it is that your cor- *respondent arrived safely in *Thunder Bay at the end of lier "short and sweet" flight. We have been favoured witb some fine hay making weather between thunder showers. Even on Sunday which aithougli some farm Sfolks did their worsbipping in the hay field there were over r60 folks in attendance fôr the joint service in our church. Oui' guest minister was a fine, close friend Dr. H. Mellow, Oshawa and bis charming wife, Bessie, (nee Pascoe) we dlaim as a native daughter. Ray Ashton presided at the organ supported by a faithful quartette in the choir alcove. Susan Werry supervised the Jr. Congregation in tbe S.S. room. Ushers were Edgar Wright and Milton Stainton. Dr. Mellow's message was a double feature as bie gave it to us in person and tape recorded i t to forward it to an elderly sister wbo is unable to attend public worsbip. He bad two sermons, one especially for the children who were advised to heed their eartbly parents and Godin learning to choose good from evil. The sermon was a clear explanation of tbe differences between Deligbt and Desire with the conclud- ing counsel to deligbt oui'- selves in God and He shahl grant our desires. Edgar Wrigbt expressed thanks to our guest on bebaif of the two congregations and invited anyone to a decorating "bee" at the Manse on Tues., at 9 a.m. Next Sunday, may you note that the morning cburcb joint service will be at 11:15 a.m. witb guest minister Rev. Max Preisler, Kedron. We are thankful that lightn- ing passed our community last week but fate sent some burgiars, to a local home, wbo used a buge rock to break in and make off with a large amount of valuables.
