Work was completed W ESLEYv VILLE onl'he very well kept cerne- There is a changing pattern of bird population these days. The noisy grackles have left their nesting places and con- gregated somewhere else. Free of their interference, the robin skimped on her house building, is using it to rear a, second brood, and brown,ý thrashers are remaining closeiy around, the house. Strange company to be seen on the lawn 'Were upland ployer and a red headed woodpecker. Neither seemed to be in a hurry to leave or show any sign of shyness. Not so pleasant to mention is -the condition of rnany fields of grain right across the south- ern part of Ontario. Several fields of. late sown oats and some wheat in this area have been attacked by a virus which prevents maturing, and fields turn brown after a short growth. Evidently there is nothing to do but piow it down. Severai farmers from the area including Mr. and Mrs. Cia- rence Nichois and Mr. and Mrs. A.' Thorndyke, attended the Hoistein-Friesion twilight meeting heid at the farm of Mr. Donald Welsh at Bow- manville last Friday night, Juiy l6th. Members of the East Dur- ham Historical Society are continuing their work of listing the tombstone records of the township cemeteries. This work is being done for the Ontario Geneologicai Society to safeguard information which is graduaily disappear- ng.
