FULL CIRCLE' Old Town Landmarks About to End Their Careers Af ter several years of frustrations- and complications, Mario Veltri has finally cleared all obstacles for his project to replace these two old landmarks with a modern building containing businesses and apartments. The demolition of the buildings is expected to get underway this week and many memories will go down with them. Long time residents will remember when the building at left was a thriving bus station operated by the late Tim Garton, and later, his son Clare while the one at right was the scene of many enjoyable dances and keen badminton games. Long before that, it was a Salvation Army citadel. In recent years, the badminton hall became a pool hall while the bus station was used as a political headquarters during the recent provincial election and later was partially destroyed by fire. The new building will be a big step forward in replacing two structures along King St. that have historic significance but in recent years have become eyesores.
