Newcat= No. 1 defaulted 'to Kendal for lack of players and Bowmanville Tigers defaulted to Port Hope also for lack of players. In another first roundygamne, the Bowmanville Jensen Steel Cougars defeated Newcastle Nicks Sheil by a 13 to 8 count. The Cougars picked up four runs in the second înning when Steven Ilurrows was safe .at first on a throwing error by the catcher, a walk to Kevin Anyan and a triple fromn George Kennett. Mike Cani- la was hit by the itcher then stole second and third and came home on a Darcy Cumming's ground bail to second., Nicks Shell went ahead with six runs in the third when Wade was safe on a error, Rowe hit by the pitcheý a walk to Jeff Lake and Metraller walked, Landry safe on an error and another walk to Donnelly and a walk te Wade.
