The matron of honor, was Mrs. Carolyn Walker, the bridesmaids Mrs. Michael Cole, Mrs. Ray Reid, and Mrs. Roy Owen, Jr. The junior bridesmaid was Miss Tammy Peters.* Gowned alike in for- mai gowns of powder blue with matching floppy brim- med hats, they carried nose- gays of yellow daisies and baby's breath. The best man was Mr. Warren Young, and the ushers Mr. Roy Owen, Mr. Roy Taylor and Mr. Ross Peters. Junior usher was Master Mark Owen. The groom and bis attendants wore black tuxedos, blue ruffled shirt?, with blue tinted carnation boutonnieres. The bride, given in mar- riage by hier parents, was radiant in a formal gown of white chiffon over taffeta, designed' witb a hîgh neckline, short sleeves and buttoned down the back. A pinksatin sasb circled the waist, witb ,a bqw and streamers at the back. French lace adorned the bodice, waist and the hem line which flowed into a chapel train. Wearing alarge, white, chiffon bat, she carnied an arm bouquet of three large, pink silk roses, baby's breath, green and .wite streamers, and wore bier mother's gold locket. The matron of bonor Mrs. Joan Blackburn, sister of the bride, wore a formal gown of pink polyester jersey, a white, floppy, brimmed bat, and carried an arm bouquet of wbite daisies, baby's breath,- greens and white ibbons. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Phyl- lis Arn Broome, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Roberta Nesbitt, sister of the groom. Wearing formai mint green gowns and white, floppy brimmed bat, tbey carried armn bouquets of yellow dais- ies, baby's breatb, greens and yellow streamers. Best man was Mr. Fred Cook, brother of the groom and the ushers, Mn. Spivey to Glenn Lawrence, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Macolm,- R.R. 1, Nestleton. The organist was Mrs. Everett Brown and the soloist Miss Gail Malcolm, sister of the groom. The cuffs of long, ful sleeves, the neckline, waist and chapel train were accent- ed by appliques of silk lace. A two tiered, below shoulder veil, feul from a matching lace trimmed cap and she carried a bouquet of pink silk rose- buds, white baby's breath and satin ribbon. The matron of honor, Mrs. Ian McKenzie, bride's sister, and the bridesmaids Miss Sandra Hunter, Miss Laurie Malcolm, groom's sister and Mrs. Joe Hough were gowned alike in formal, A-uine gowns of apricot pompadour silk. Wearing white daisies in their coiffures, they carried bou- quets of white daisies, baby's ,breath and lace. yellow and white silk daisies. Mr., and Mrs. Cook are now residing -in Penticton, British Columbia, at 165 Edmonton Avenue, Suite 211. Mrs. Leone Lane was a visitor the past week, with Mr. and Mrs. Barry Lane, and family in Peterborough. Mr. and Mrs. P.J. Rowe of Viewlake were Tuesday after- noon visitors witb Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gilmer. Miss Aima Learoyd, of Toronto, who had attehded the 5th wedding anniversary of her brother Everett and his wife, in Unionville, the prev- ious Sunday passed away suddenly last Tuesday. They were close relatives of the Holman family, well known in this area. 1Mesdames Bernice Hender- son, A. Tizzard, Olive Hender- son, Margaret Elliott, and Inez Boughen were among those attending the U.C.W, at Kendal, last Wednesday even- ing, where C. Downs gave a talk on "Stewardship." A social time was enjoyed after the prograrn. Mr. and Mrs. Melville Samis moved to their new home in Port Hope last week. Newtonville Women's Insti- tute sponsored a Trentway bus trip last Thursday, Sept. 2' with Mr. Irwin Warner, driver and 36 smiling ladies on board. Leavîng about 9 a.m. they travelled to Campbellford to view the making of the- World's Finest Chocolates, at the factory. t was an interest- ing experience to watch the p-eparation of the cocoa bean for the largevats of stirring chocolate,' to the conveyors of the finished product, being assembled into bars, and containers of the final choco- late. The firm was most generous, in giving each lady a large chocolate bar. At noon, all went their various ways, to different restaurants in Campbellford and a bit of shopping. Then on to Lange Century Village, where relies of the past were admired reminding us of visits to our grandparents'. The village was arranged by the County of Peterborough as a Centennial projeet of,1967, with assistance froma the Federal and Provincial gov- ernments. It was an ideal day to visit the different buildings, seeped in county history. - the homestead of David Fife, of the famous Red Fife Wheat - the old township hall; the blacksmith shop; schooi house; and country store. The clap-board church was beauti- fui and the hand-carved organ was played, by an attendant.
