There's about $2,000 in this name, according to informa- tion given out at a council meeting last week. That's the price of printing the word "Bowmanville" on the town's 350,000 gallon water storage tank next month. Councillor Bruce Tink told council Monday, September 7, that the Durham Region is going to paint both the inside and the outside of the struc- ture in October. He said the name would not be painted on the tank unless the town is willing to pay for it. Councillor Hobbs suggested, however, that an agreement to paint the name had already been made and the money involved in the lettering had been budgeted for. The matter was sent to the finance committee for clarifi- cation. Council was told that the tank must be drained 'while the painting is being done but Bowmanville's water pres- sure will still be maintained. Mayor Rickard said he understood that the painting is done during the month of October because water con- sumption during that month is low.
