In today's lesson we realized that we must realize what others haveý learned in God's World. The Bible is a tremendous draina,, people trying to handle life and obey God. Many stumble and many rise up. again against ,ail odds. God will always see us through. It is the strengtb which God gives us that we wish for aur Church Sehool and for aur congrega- tion. Mrs. Dorothy Lee, Sun- day Sehool , Superintendent, assisted in the service of responsive reading. Mrs. H., Visser sang a solo witbh an inspiring message. United Churcb In the United Church Rever- end Victor Parsons chose "The Obstacle Coulrse" as the theme for bis inessage' read- ing Numbers 13: 25-14: 12, Matbew 25: 19-30. Years of practising and dedication are needed for Olympic partici- pation. Wben the Israelites decided to leave Egypt they too had many obstacles ta surmount. When they did reacli 'the land of milk and honey' they saw themselves as small and weak who were facing a formidable foe. Each ane of us faces obstacles or difficulties in our daily living but 'each' must face the problem confrontïing us and with faith we shah ýueceed. The choir sang, "Praise Him in the Mornifng." We. are glad that.ý Mrs. Garodon Ficko was alsa able ta return home. last Wednesday from Civic Hospital, Peterbar- ough. Cathmar Well Drillers also closed aut their season last week but in a very disap- pointing fashion. Pontypoôi and Nestleton were opposition in the play-offs and bad played only 1 game with Nestleton the victor. The second game in this 2 out of 3 series had ta be rescheduled because Nestle- ton bad to play elsewhere. Our men hoped to play the following weekend but again Nestleton cauldn't play be- cause there was a shortage af players. However the league officiais said the teams had ta play on Monday, Sept. 2th or forfeit the game because the winners were to commence semi-finals with Utica immed- iately. Because of night shifts and inclement weatber only 6 of Pontypool's players shawed in Part Perry for the game and sa, the game was handed on a silver platter ta Nestie- ton. t is a shame that the team wbich ended up in ï second place during the regu- lar seasan had ta bow out ta the 5tb place Nestleton team in this manner. h n e. d il y n n 0 9 2 9 a it n d 0 y n n J~AGit,rýP tËsîIe C. - at r-reeman.
