Griffin. Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Lamb, had Sunday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Trewin. Mrs. H.W. Gregg, Gien Burnie Maryland is spending a few weeks with ber father Mr. A. Sharp and family and attended the graduation of ber niece at Courtice. Master James Avery is spending the weekend with Master Scott Rekker, New-, castle. Mr. E.R. The Stewards had a very successful bake and vegetable sale at Cliff Pethick's Auction at Haydon on Saturday even- ing. Proceeds brought $300. Mr. and Mrs. L. Stainton bave been recent visitors for a few days with daughter Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hockin and famihy, Ehmvale. We wish Miss Judy Virtue a lasi recovery , 1rom a good dose of' Sinius, she bas been missing school this past week or more and would like to get back soon. Margaret and Orville Ash- ton were weekend guests of Gertrude and Ted Harrison, Toronto aIl visited cousins Aline. and George Jobaston also enjoyed a pleasant tour of the noted Casa Loma Castle. ELIZABETH VILLE Our faîl baptismal services were held on Sunday when ittie Jeffrey Michael Burton son of Mr. and Mrs. B. Burton, was christened. The choir sang a number. Rev. Bartlett spoke on "Seteking the best things in Lif e". We will hold our first big social and games night for faîl at Garden Hilh in Novemaber. Sunday school was held here,.as well as at Garden Hill during the service on Sunday. On Wednesday we held our fowl supper and reported an excellent supper with ahi tickets for the two settings. On Tuesday afternoon after our bee to make the dressing, the ladies were invîted to Mr. and Mrs. J. Ingram's to see Debbie and Harry's gifts and were also served cookies and tea. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Mercer had Mrs. Mae Trew, Garden Hill and Mr. Clare White, Lindsay hast Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. B. Burton had Mr. and Mrs. Ross Beatty, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Beatty, great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Yarema, Mr. and Mrs. Z. Austin.
