Bownianville, November 10, 197(i' Section Two OBITUARJES CI ARAALI( 1' GIBBS The death ot Clara Alice Gibbs occured on Wednesday, October 27th, 1976 at the Golden Plough, Cobourg. She was in her 9th year. Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Moses Crowhurst she was born in Croydon, Eng- land. She was married to the late Thomas Henry Gibbs on October 19, 1907. Mrs. Gibbs has spent the last 10 years in the Golden Plough Lodge Cobourg. Prior to this she and her late husband farmed in the Tyrone Area for 44 years. Being a hard working farmer's wife, her main interests were her home, family, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was quite successful in ail she undertook. The deceased was a member of- the United Church. Survived by two sons and a daughter, Richard, Jack, Mrs. T. Janeyn (May) al of T'yrone. A daughter Mrs. B.H. Mortlock (Kathleen) Ottawa predeceased her. Also are surviving 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was also the iast survivor of a large family. The funeral serv ice was iield fromn the 'Northcutt Elliott 1Funeral Home, Bowmanville, nh Friday, October 29th, 1976. 'he funeral was officiated by Rev. B.H. Mortlock, husband of her late daughter Kathleen, who gave a eulogy which was a very fitting tribute to her. ;Burial took place at Hampton 0Cemetery. Palîbearers were four ,grandsons. George Gibbs, Rory Gibbs, Tom Mortlock and Donald Janczyn. 1Floral tokens were from. REMI MAURICE VANHAVERBEKE Born in Wevelgem, West Flanders, Belgium, Remi Maurice Vanhaverbeke, aged 62, died on Thursday, October 28th, 1976, in Bowmanville. He had, been in poor health the past two years. 1Educated in Belgium, and Wallaceburg, Ontario, he was the son of Jules Vanhaver- beke, and Marie Mullebrouck. His step-father was Jerome D'haene. On April l5th, 1941 he was married to Laura Van de poele. He had resided at Stephen- son Road, R.R. 2 Newcastle for two years, previously residing in Newtonville, Pontypool and Alliston. Self-employed since 1941, he was president of Vanhaver- beke Tobacco Farms Ltd. A member of St. Joseph's R.C. Chruch, Bowmanville, he was also a former member (10 year Monarch) Lion's Club International, Alliston. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Laura, sons James and Edmond, a dau gh- ter Linda (Mrs. John Pleas- ance), his mother Marie D'haene, step-brother Roger D'haene, step-sister Made- leine (Mrs. Armand Vanland-, schoot) and eight grandchild- ren. Rïeverend Frank Mihelic conducted the service on Monday at the Morris Funeral Chapel. The organist was Pat Prout and the vocalists Mim Usher, Thereea and Anita Casteels. Paîl-bearers were Donald D'haene and nephews Tony, Brian, Michael, Danny and Dennis Vandepoele, of the Delhi area. Honorary pali-bearers were Danny Vanlandschoot (god- child), Bert Trembly, Maurice Beausaert, Dan Decourtre, Bihl CacgnteCaueL- 'o. The general occurrences investigated included thefts, break and enters, assault and complaints of wilful damage. H-allowe'en weekend was fairly quiet this year and officers were required to attend at only six reports of wilful damage on both Satur- day and Sunday evenings. Lock your'Car DRIVERS!
