During their sojourn here they visited Lake Scugog Museumn, attended the opera at O'Keefe Centre, spent a day on a colour tour of the Kawartha Lakes, visited Niagara Falls, the Lift Locks a( Peterborough and other local points of -interest. The Animal Clinic in Toronto was also an educational and pleas- ant visit. The guests were delighited with the Canadian scenery and its ereat open expance of breath-taking vis- tas. They are hoping to return again for six weeks' vacation. Mr. Earl Bowers spent the weekend in North Bay visiting his sister Mrs, Dorothy Chap- mnan and family. MIr. and iVrs. Richard Davison were Sunday evening dinner guests of' Mr. and Mrs. Harold Elliot, Leaskdale. Mr. Ralph 'Sadler and Mr. Bruce Iawson, Nestleton's Hackney Horsemen are exhib- iting at the winter fair. Mrs. Florence Thompson, Toronto is visiting her sister, Mrs. Lawrence Cooledge. On Thursday, their brother and his wife Mr. and Mrs. Herb Spruit, Oakwood, were after- noon and evening dinner guests. On Saturday Mrs. Cooledge and Mrs. Thompson returned the visit and. had evening dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Spruit. On Sunday the ladies visited with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Cooledge and famnily, Caesarea, and a]] had dinner at Rockhaven Restaur- ant, Peterborotigh. The Senior Citizens of Cart- wright spent an enjoyable day on Friday when a 'bus load \vent to the Royal Winter Fair. Several from this area attended the splendid inter- church choir concert -Alleu- ia" which wxas presented in Prince Albert United Church on Sunday. On Saturday evening, a number of local folk attended the Blackstock High School Commencement. A humour- ous play delighted the audi- ence. Hlelen Wolters, an honor student gave the Vale- dictory Address. The Nestle- ton Women's Institute Henry Thomnspon Memorial was pre- sented to Peter Duivesteyn (year 3) Lori Ann Emerton won the Hallowe'en draw and received the bicycle. Congrat- ulations are extended to all' those young people who are a credit to Canada's Youth. Mr. and Mrs. Balfour Moore visited for Sunday evening dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence English, Bowman- ville.
