The audience was fewer in number also as some folks were too timid to venture out in the low Celsius tempera- ture. We anticipate, in the not too distant future, the plea- sure of another concert by this super choir when, hopefully, wheather and health will be better. Our minister welcomed and introduced the musical ex- pertise Jan Kinsman who directed her 35 singers, also pianist Doris Beaton. The musical selections had excel- lent quality and pleasing variety for enjoyment by the young in years and young at heart. Soprano soloist Eleanor Bailey was charming in her songs i.e. "Christopher Robin Is Saying His Prayers" and "Climb Every Mountain". Violin soloist Alex Dobos joined the pianist to render, like a Maestro, his solos, "Sunrise, Sunset" and "Czar- das". The first seven choral numbers were Oklahoma, Smilin' Throug h, Michael Row the Boat Ashore, Edle- weiss, Chorus of the Slaves, Smoke Get in Your Eyes and You'll Never Walk Alone. Follolwing the brief inter- mission the choir gave a second group of delightful choruses viz: South Pacific, If We Only Have Love, No Man Is an Island and a welcome re-view of Christmas was provided by the Carols-Mary Had a Baby, Christmas Hymn and Lo How a Rose E'er Blooming. A real touch of comedy was introduced as the choir sang Suzy Snowflake and Frosty the Snowman when two handsome chaps, from the tenor section pan- tomimed in costume, who were Garry McHugh as Suzy and Ralph Bailey as Frosty. As a perfect closing the choir sang "Let There Be Peace on Earth". The appre- ciative audience gave hearty applause to augment the thanks expressed by Rev. H. Kempling. Two eager young listeners were the little daugh- ter and son of Eleanor and Ralph Bailey. Lunch was served to the performing guests to complete a fine entertainment. Oshawa Presbyterial U.C.W.
