Glad to hear Mr. Marwood McKee is much improved and able, to be home after a lengthy stay in Oshawa Hos- pital. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Trewin, Enniskillen and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mcbaughlin were Tues- daý afternoon and evening visitors of Mrs. Roy Taylor. Mrs. Gladys Suggitt enjoyed Christmas Day with Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Suggitt. ,Brownie registration will be held on January 24th at the Public School. Please use East door. Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Mur- ray of Manilla were last Sunday dinner guests of hier mother Mrs. Roy Taylor. 1Mr. and Mrs. Roy McLaugh- lin were Saturday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Beacock. Port Ferry. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Taylor entertained lis mother for hier hirthday on Thursday evening at Conway Gardens., Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pawley ofPort Hope were Sunday evening dinner'guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kelly, and girls. Mr. and Mrs. Anson Taylor and Carolyn Murray of Toron- to and Mrs. Roy Taylor enjoyed dinner at Emiel's Place on Friday in honour of Mrs. Roy Taylor's birthday. Later on Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Traylor joined the family to spend an enjoyable time with their mother and grand- mother at lier home'. On Thursday evening the Blackstock curlers enjoyed a mixed curling jitney. The lucky teams were: lst. Bob and Pat Fletcher and Ernie and Connie Swain. 2nd. Roy and Edith McLaughllin and Dave and Nancy Barr, 3rd. Richard and Ruby Van Camp, Colin Asseistine and Cindy Van Camp. Low score went to, Floyd and Marlene Asseistine and Terry and Brenda Mal- colm. Glad to hear Scott Leach is feeling much better following a toboggan accident. A meeting was held on Thursday evening at the home of Judy Crawford to start plans for a Co-Op nursery in this area. A follow-up meeting took place on 'Saturday. The group was, officially formed and took the name, Blackstock Co-Op Nursery. Brenda Walk- er was hired as a qualified teacher and voted in as the first President. Alice Wald- riffe accepted the position of Treasurer and B3eth Schryburt as Secretary. The Nursery will start February lst. pend- ing inspection and licence. The Nursery will be held in the Christian Education room of the Blackstock United Church. Bowmanviiei2 W.', The January meeting'of Bowmanville W.I. was held in Trinity Church Hall, Jan. 6th at 2 p.m. Our meeting was opened in the regular manner by our president Mrs. Wiseman. Mrs. T. Buttery gave the secretary's and financial re- port. The correspondence related to the summary of Milk and Dairy Food work to be in Orono Jan. 24th 1-1:30 p.m. Delegate to Waterloo officers conlerence in -May was ap- or for the program introduced Miss Lori Van Camp, R.R.2, Bowmanville, who had been an exchange student to Aus- tralia from summer 1975 to July 1976. She was at a town between Melbourne and Syd- ney. Her pictures and com- mentary were most interest- ing and seemed to make us feel as if there, too. Miss Van Camp with her interest and work proved to be a real Ambassador for Canada. Our exchange students have proven their ability in the different counitries of the world. Mrs., Cryderman, thanked our speaker and presented her with a memento for her visit. Mrs. Wiseman, also thanked her and' with no further business losed the meeting with God Save the Queen., A social haîf hour followed. 5 LB.
