Hockin Real Estate's Pee Wees Win Consolation at On, Jan. lth the Hockin Real Estate Pee Wees travel- led te Bay Ridges and came away with a 2-2 tie. Bay Ridges struck early with two fast goals. The Toros finally connected on agoal by Jimmy Hogarth. Their second goal came in the 3rd period as Brad Clemens dug the puck out of the corner and passed to Rob Siggins who was standing at the goal crease and managed to score into the corner of the net. Bay Rîdges came on, strong nearing the end of the 3rd period but great goaltend- ing by Mark Rutherford and Billy McArthur kept a tie for the boys. On Jan. l3th, the Toros hosted Port Perry and also came away with a 3-3 tie. The Toros opened the scoring at 9:27 of the lst period on a goal by Terry Allen assisted by Roîf Geisler. Their second goal came at 3:05 of the first period also scored by Terry Allen unassisted. The boys were skating well and at 6:14 of the 2nd period scored their third goal by Brad ClernenA and assisted by Roîf Geisier. The Toros began to get hit with penalties and Port Perry came back with 3 unanswered goals to give them the tie. Win Consolation Trophy On Jan. lSth, the Hockin boys travelled to Bobcaygeon for their annual Pee Wee tournamentand came home with the consolation trophy. Their first game was played against Newcastle and the Toros were defeated by a score of 4-2. Newcastle opened the scoring at 2:16 of the first period. The Toros came back and tied the score at 3:00 minute mark of the first period on an unassisted goal by 'Scott Ward. Newcastle came back and scored once more in the first period and again in the second. Bowmanville scored in the third period on a goal by Gary Allen, assisted by his line- mates Stephen Martin, and Terry Allen. Newcastle rounded out the scoring at 6:07 of the third period to advance them to the championship side and the Toros te the consola- tion. In the second game, the Toros were pitted against Haliburton and played prob- ably their bestgame of the year earning a 6-3 victory. There was superb goaltend- ing at both ends of the rink, but with 1: 09 left in the game, Mark Doyle waý scored on, spoiling his shutout bld.ý This was the only shutout of the 29 te beat hlm. Toros had their chances but couldn't buy a goal. Anytîme the score is 1-0 you know it was a real entertaining game as was this one. Outstanding 'on defence were Dennis Simpson and Allan Potter. Kevin Tink and Steve Huisman worked very hard for the Toros in this barn burner. The I.D.A. boys have Losing shown some real definite improvement of late. Oin Jan. lSth, the drugstore boys played host te the strong Bay Ridges club and went down te defeat 6-3. Kevin Tink fed Andy Paton a break-away pass and Pat- on's hîgh shots beat the Bay Ridges goalie to give the Toros a short lived lead. The, Toros had an excellent first period, but the strong Bay Ridges club wore them down andI took complete control by the third period. Only the excellent goaltending of Don Reefke kept the score respect- able'. Todd Bate of the McGregor Bantams recently suffered a broken.leg and is currently in hospital. The team wishes Todd a speedy receovery and are loioking forward to seeing himi back at the arena as we ail enjoy his Jokes and "1wisecracks."
