Both teams claimed beautiful goals on solo rushes by Joe Caruana and Lanny Burns. Hoopers took the lead, late in the second when Kerry Milner tallied .from Gary Wilson. With seconds lef t to play, Rick Woolner tied the score. Mike Cornell opened the scoring for Lockes at the 5 minute mark in the third. Eagles had a slow start which can be understood after close to a three hour trip. They came on strong in the second period and then in the third one of their finest checking periods both ways of the, season, holding the Huskies Who were fighting desperateiy for the last playoff spot to no goals while Eagles counteci two to break the tie. Eagles came close to having a full team with Captain Joe Humenich and -Dean Morgan the only absentees. This was not one of the selects' better games as they stopped passing and back-checking but held on for the win. The Selects jumped into a 3-0 first period lead when captain John Klompmaker opened the scoring at the 6:45 mark assisted by Dan Ellott and Todd Beers. Danny El- liott, who played a fantastic game, scored the next two goals the first on a neat passing play with Jeff Logan, the second on a pretty three way passing play with Klomp- maker and Beers. WINTER ACTIVITIES - have begun in earnest at the Ganaraska Forest centre, (formerly known as Cold Springs); north east of Kendal.,T he greatest use of the centre and trails is being made by cross-countryskiers who have a choice of three individual trails ranging from two miles in length to a real trip over a ten mile course, ail containied within the forest itself. The chalet is providing hot chocolate and chocolate bars plus a centre for warmrth on such cold afternoons as last Sunday. The club hasý been in operation for the past month. Organizations such as Oshawa and Orono cub packs have used the facilities available for camp-outs. Dinners and dances, are being h feld in the athletic building.
