"Preliminary data from the nutrition survey conducted by the health unit indicates that 24 per cent ofelementary and 31 per cent, of secondary school children discard their lunch, uneaten,"'said Dr. D.E.> Mikel, acting Medical Officer of Health for the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge Dis- trict Health Unit. Dr. Mikel proposed that an ad hoc committee be set up to look into the question of nutrition in, the Northumber- land Newcastle Schools.
