KITES - The second annual Glad Kite Festival for Big Brothers will be held on June il on the West Island of Ontario Place. The biggest, best decorated, Most unusual and prettiest tailed kites will win. A further category for schools flying a kite as'a group bas also been added. To qualify, kites must be made from any, "Glad"' plastic bag or "Kitchen Catcher" and must fly at 100 feet for three minutes carrying a special Glad decal. The team received the championship trophy after defeating each of the other groups entered in the competition for the Darlington area. The team, Enniskillen's girls floor hockey team kept on top of the opposition during the playoff games to keep the trophy in their school. On Tuesday, May 17, the Tykes trounced Whitby 21-3 in an exhibition game. Chris Michelson led the 27 bit attack witb four bits, and three runs. Raymond Cummîngs scored five runs and had two doubles. Ed Bird bit a home run in the first inning, witb George Kennett and George Wind bitting doubles and scoring two runs apiece. Ed Rozema started for Bowmanvihle allowing only one batter to reacb base in the tbree innings be hurled. Roze- ma struck out six and walked one of the ten bat ters be faced. Other changes were: badhy needed gates (for safety measures), leadîng from tbe pif area fo the frack, an enlarged pif area, stands in the pif area, and another refreshment bar (totalling two). If is boped thaf mem- bers of pif crews and sucb will sit in the stands provided in the pif area as, for another safefy measure, management will 'be enforcing' the "no" standing at the fence area.
