Rev. Sissmore welcomed Pat and Rene Mannonen, who plan on having their baby christened on November 13. Mr. Sissmore took John 3: 1-18 for his text and asked the question "Hlow do you get to heaveni?" Maily suggestions have been given regarding this question, which has re- sulted in various denomina- tions being formed. Nico- demus asked this question of Jesus and He replied, "You must be born again." Nico- demus was a wealthy man, hie provided the herbs for the embaiming which were ex- pensive; hie was a me mber of parlianient of the Pharisee party; hie was a Jewish leader. But despite his wealth Nico- demus still feit there was something lacking in his life, 50 in order to have a quiet, serious talk with .Jesus hie met Himat night, and Jesus in a' straight forward statement declared that regardless of his values and power hie must become a new person and a desire to be renewed must cgme from within. A' spirit- born person is like the wind, we don't know where it comes from, but it is. a feeling of being freed of past conditions, free from rules and customs and experiencing joy and Conraulations to Kathy Kloepfer, who won the plaque for highest academic standing LA ffin 1
