Saturday, October 22 Cobourg was in town to play their second league game against Inche Welding Major Bantams. The first period gave us a good 10 minutes of skating and hitting. The Toros ended the period 1-0 when Tim Almond scored from a pass by Kevin Welsh. At 10 seconds into the second period, Todd Hooper put the puck into the net on another pass from Kevin Welsh. Forty- five seconds later, Cobourg got on the scoreboard when Paul Maddigan slipped the puck by Craig German. A couple of minutes later, the Toros scored on a power play. Doug Dilling passed the puck out to the point and a quick shot by Brent Thompson hit the upper left hand corner making it 3-1 for the Toros. Cobourg then became a frus- trated team taking unneces- sary penalties. The Toros continued their scoring ways. Dana Peebles made it 4-1 on a pass from Kevin Tink at the 4:30 mark of the second period. Todd Hooper got his second goal of the evening at 6:10 with assists from Tim Almond and Kevin Welsh. Four minutes and fifty seconds later, Todd registered his third goal for the Hat Trick, assists went to Scott Paterson and Kevin Welsh. Todd got his fourth goal again assisted by Kevin Welsh in the third period. Cobourg scored the two final goals, ending the game at 7-3 for the Toros. Sunday, October 23, the Toros travelled to Trenton for an exhibition game. The Toros played a poor hitting game and were defeated 3-0 by Trenton. Thursday, October 27, Inche Welding Major Bantams played in Bay Ridges losing 6-4, still in what appeared to- be a slump which started in Trenton. The Toros had the game won up to the last four minutes and 25 seconds of the game when they seemed to stop playing, allowing Bay Ridges to score 4 goals. Scoring for the Toros were Mark Matthews with 2 goals, Brent Thompson and Todd Hooper with singles. Assists went to Paul Dadson drawing two and a single for Tim Almond. Saturday, October 29, Inche Welding Major Bantams played host to the Bay Ridges Club. The second period of the game ended with a score of 4-3 for Bay Ridges. The third period went the same way as it had Thursday night with Bay Ridges scoring three times and the Toros once. The final score of the game was 7-4 for Bay Ridges. Scoring for the Toros were Tim Almond, Lenny Dyck, Dana Peebles and Kevin Tink.
