SHu AWS Shaw's Annual Christmas Supper About 50 friends and neigh- bours gathered at Shaw's Sehool for the annual Christ- mas Pot Luck Supper last Tuesday evening. The tables were attractiveiy decorated with red poinsettias in white vases and Christmas mobiles decorated the room. Alne Ayre called the group to order with words of Iweicome and grace was sung. A delicious supper of casser- oles, lasagna, meatpies, etc. and tasty dessert dishes was enjoyed by ail present. The committee in charge were Alne andLloyd Ayre, June and Bill Bragg, Dorothy and Calin Crago and Ethel and Doug Wight. Shirley Brown accompamed at the piano for an old lime Christmas Carol sing sorng. Gerry Brown revieweci the year's activities and gave the treasurer's report. Nominat- tions were heid for a new executive and these include Llod and Arline Ayre, Tom and SaIly Barrie, Rod and Mariene Stork, Jim and Romona Rickard and'Doug and Muriel Woods. The,. Shaw's Ladies' Group held their Christmas dinner meeting, iast Wednesday, at the, Heritage Restaurant in the Bowmanvîlie Mail with 16 present including severai hus- bands. They enjoyed a fine dinner and then went to Wiiheimina Wood's home for an enjoyabie afternoon of Euchre and visitino. Severai from Shaw's attended the Orono Towing Christmas Party last Satur- day night. They were John and Marg Killeen Howard and Barb Wood and Stewart and Jean Wood, formerly of Shaw's. The B.H.S. Christmas Band Concert was heid last Tuesday night when the Junior and Senior Bands participated aiong wîth the Monday Night and the Stage Band groups. The leaders were Mrs. L. Shewchuk, Mr. J. Leith and Mr. E, Tremeer. The visiting group for the concert was the Clarke High Schooi Choir, under the direction of their music director. The hîghiight of the concert was a fine duet by Caroline Mostert and iAndrew Sproat. They piayed "Let it Snow", wi th Caroline at the piano and Andrew ont clarinet. This programme reveaied a goodly number of fine singers and musîcians and the dir- ectors of ail groups must be praised, for their continuing good work. We understand there are severai in our neighbourhood down with very bad colds and the flu and we would wish them better heaith for the holidays.
