There were eighteen present and Doctor and Mis. Bruce Allia, home from New Zealand showed very interesting pic- tures of that country wich were enjoyed by all present. Mrs. Cheryl Vardy and Mrs. Sharon Buttery, the two new Leaders of the 4-H Club, will be holding the first meeting of that organization, on Wednes- day, January 25th. This is open to boys and girls, of that age group and we hope to have something to report next week. Local people attending the meeting of the Senior Citizen Group, in Newcastle, last Tbursday included Mrs. Iva Farrow, Mrs. Milligan and Bernice and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Fletcher. We understand Mrs. Fletcher was elected as the new President for this year. Congratulations! Vi-sitors during the week- end with Mr. and Mrs. F. Gilmer, were Mr. and Mrs. Phil, Gilmer, Mrs. Rowena Tizzard, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gilmer, and Lynn of Port Hope. Sorry to bear Mrs. Carole Gardner is in Toronto, under- going surgery. We ail wisb ber a speedy recovery. There were 20 ladies in attendance at the Newtonville Women's Institute meeting, held at the home of President Amelia Lancaster, on Wed- nesday afternoon, January 18th. After a few words of welcome to ber new home, the meeting opened with the Ode, followed by the Mary Stewart Collect. Secretary- Treasurer Madeline Buckley read, the minutes- of last meeting, duly approved, and the Financial report, also approved, as read. A reading was given by Madeline Buckley and Mary Jones told of ber trip to England, during. the Jubilee, showîng pictures which were enjoyed by all present. Bessie Stephenson also was heard from. Collection was taken and Grace was sung, after whicb lunch was served.
