Lions Club Welcomes New -Members Three new names were added to the membership roll of the Bowmanville Lions Club last week during a special induction meeting. -District Governor Graham Law from Cobourg took part in the induction ceremony after speaking to the club. The Anthem by the Sr. choir and director Ulah Chambers, entitled "Walk With Him" gave a meaningful message in music. Our Minister stood on the Chancel steps to many happy faces as he gave his Children's Story "Missionaries Now",where he told of a little child who was a missionary to bis pýarents. As usual the very young members repeated their unison prayer and moved to the S.S. room with leaders for S.S. period. Each of the five groups stood in turn to repeat together the "Promise" which is to help someone everyday. One lone Scout was joined by our minister to repeat the promise. Our minister's sermon was "Give up to Take up" where he showed we give up self to take up for others. He explained also the movement represented by the five groups and told of the recent celebration at P.EI. He cited some experiences of the great leader Baden Powell as a, soldier who was observant, cautîous and had a keen memnory and who also had many loves with especially a love of God. Rev. Kempling also spoke of God's ~wofld, God's Plan, God's Lovec and caring with reference to the Burning Bush, Roland Moses another famous leader Ushers were a Guide - Nancy, Groeneveld and a Scout - Scott Kossatz. The February meeting of the Enniskillen Mothers' Fellowship was held at the home of Mrs.ý M. Wollenberg, recently. President Aima Rowan opened with a poem entitled "Gardening" in which we were urged to plant and grow our good characteris- tics. The minutes of the January meeting, read by Secretary-Treasurer Shirley Stainton, revealed the slate of officers for 1978 to be uncbanged except for the addition of Agnes MacKenzie as Vice-President. Further discussions on a baby layette for the family and Children's Services resulted in members donating articles and the funds to pay for diapers only. The children of North Courtice Schools will receive again this year a Valentine dessert treat of cupeakes, cookies and Dixie cups to- be setved by Alma, and the two Shirleys. Pauline Taylor, our Card chairperson, revîewed the birthday list of Senior Citizens and updated it with the help of mnembers.
