In the front row are the following speakers who won trophies and certificates: Walter Sherwin (left), Janine Gosman (centre) and Rhonda Peterson. Rhonda Peterson, of Bowmanvüle Senior Public School took first place for a speech entitled "What Not To Do In A Speech." In -second place was Janine Gosman of Hobbs Senior Public School. She spoke on Pollution. Third place was Walter Shérwin, of the Pines Senior Public Sehool. His speech was on the history of the Model A Ford. :The lower photo shows the contestants and winners in the grade nine and 10 category. For the main live love project this year the women have chosen the island of Haiti a French dominateci country ini the Caribbean. Thelma Wright's program centered on Haiti. The room was filled with colorful posters, literature, and Creole -proverbs. Jean Adams and Jean Ferguson played missionaries from Haiti by reading letters from Allen and Betty Ann Darby missionaries on the island. Audrey Wright read the life story of a girl born into the Voodoo religion and now a Christian. Everyone in the room was then asked to aid in the study of Haiti by reading separate facts of Haiti and the feelings of the natives. Upon ending her program Mrs. Wright mentioned that the U.C.W.'s second live love project was a Canadian ministry, Saint Columba House in Montreal. This House was chosen especially because of Janet McGregor formerly of Bowmanville and her work done at the Columba House. An appropriate devotional was presented by Norma Van Camp; Loving as Jesus' Loved. The scripture Mark Chapter 9 verses 38-41 were read. Everyone sang "Love Divine Ail Loves Excelling" accompanied on the piano by Ruth Wilson. The evening unit served lunch. Two Brownie Packs and One Guide Company enjoyed skating on Wednesday at, the Blackstock Arena. Ail of the girls were tested for their skating badges and refresh- ments were enjoyed by ail. Mrs. F.
