Ma~Brown Novices Loge To Witbyin Payofs Defeated by Whitby in Playoffs On Satin-day, February 25, the playoffs started in Bow- manville arena with the Toros being handed a 4-2 defeat. Whitby came ln witb a strong start scoring 2 quick goals. The Toros bounced back with Kelly Armstrong scoring his first goal as a Toro with Brad Carnegie gaining the assist. ;Chris Beck scored again for tbe Toros with Michael Houston getting the assist. Whitby came back to score 2 more goals to put the game out cf reach. In this game Brad Carnegie, Chris Beck and Kelly Armstrong played a strong game. In the second game we travelled to Witby to corne away with'a 1-1 tie even after overtime. Scoring for the Toros was Scott Burns with Michael Gallant getting the assist. In this game playing strong for the Toros were Scott Burns, Michael Gallant and Cory Sweet. A gcod game also was played by the defense cf Michael Houston, Shawn Rekker, Bobby McArthur and Barry Oliver. In the third game the Toros were defeated in overtime 4-1. The Toros were the first te score with Cory Sweet getting the goal and Larry Perris and David Fairey gaining the assist. In the second period, Witby tied it up and it remained that way until haîf way through the overtime period. We were mainhy defeated by trying te serve toc many penalties. Playing strcng for the Toros were David Fairey, Larry Perris and Glen Campbell. The Toros went eut in style and now will concentrate their efforts on exhibition games and tourna- ments. February 11, the Toros played host te the Oshawa AAA coming up with a 4-4 tie. The game was výry exciting with ail the team playing good hockey. Oshawa started off early in the first period scoring 2 quick goals. In the second perîod the Toros responded with 2 goals. Scoring for Bowmanville was Chris Beck with Glen Campbell gaining the assist and Barry Oliver with Brad Carnegie getting the assist. Oshawa came back te score te end the second period 3-2. On March' 4, the Toros hosted the Cobourg Novices outplaying and outscoring them 4-1. The Toros scored quickly in the first period wîth Shawu Rekker scorîng with Michael Houston and Michael Gallaut -gettiug an assist. In the second period Shawn Rekker scored' agaîn with Michael Houston receiving anether assist. Scott Burns came back, te score for the Toros with Michael Gallant and Shawn Rekker getting the assist.
