APRIL 12,1978 SECTION TWO Trophies Galore for Local Curlers In the Tuesday afternoon Ladies curling, the winners of the President's trophy, the Bank of Montreal trophy and the Ken Nicks trophy were, Back row, left to right, Diane Dion, Marg Geisberger, Nancy MacMaster, Lorraine Lever and Barb Henderson; front row, Dorothy Kohlsmith, Martha Hogarth. In the Thursday afternoon league Ladies curling, the winners of the Roy Nichols, Ad Goheen and Hooper's trophies were, back row, 1-r, Rena Fisk, Donna Geisberger, Glennys Simons, Kay Worden, Ruth Willoughby; front row, Jean Balson, Shirley Sainton, Dorothy Kohlsmith. The Business Girls curling held their closing day on Wednesday. The trophy winners were, from left to right, Skip Dorothy Kohlsmith, Vice Donna Morrison, President Jean Turner, 2nd Marcie Sully and Lead Connie Townsend. The Mixed Curling League held their closing banquet on Saturday night with a delicious dinner catered by King's Garden Restaurant. These are the winners of the Dennison Manufacturing and the St. Mary's Cement trophies: from left to right, Sandra Green, Alex Liddell, Donna Morrison and Mike Kowal with the Dennison trophy being presented by Roy Trudeau; Doug McCabe presented the St. Marys Cement trophy to Paul Dion, Irene Peebles, Jocelyn Jay and Len Jay. Mens Curling at Bowmanville Country Club closed recently with the presentation of trophies at the banquet. The successful revival of curling at the club has been quite an achievement this year with President Doug McCabe being given considerable credit for its impetus.
