8 The Canadian Statesman, Bowmanville, April 12, 1978 Section Two HAMPTN The Hampton Womens Institute met on April 4 in the C.E. Wing having a Pot Luck Carry-In Lunch before the regular meeting. After a scrumptious meal and the dishes washed, we opened oui' meeting by singing the Ode and repeating the Mary Stewart Collect in unison. The Roll Cail - a favourite remedy of my grandmother was well answered along with paying our fee for the coming year. The Minutes ivere read and approved. A letter was re- ceived, from the Canadian Cancer Society to attend an Open Forum at Trinity United in Bowmanville on April 20. Speaker to be Dr. Hans Messner from Princess Margaret Hospital and his topic to be General Concepts of Cancer. It was decided to meet on Tuesday April llth at 1:30 p.mf. to make up the programmes for the coming year. Mrs. Bryant moved that Mrs. Chant, Mrs. Mountenay and Mrs. Yeo be our voting delegates at the District Annual on May 9 at Kendal, seconded by Mrs. Allun, carried. Offering was re- ceived- We then started our annual meeting. Mrs. Mountenay welcomed Mrs. Bradley who had some to install the new officers. Mrs. Yeo rend the minutes of the previous annual meeting. The Convenors of the Standing Committees gave their reports each convenor moving the adoption of their report, Mrs. Smales seconded the adoptions. Mrs. Bradley then took charge of the installation of the officers. Mrs. Macklin moved Mrs. Yeo act as Secretary, seconded by Mrs. Bryant, carried. The siate of officers by the Nominating Committee was read by Mrs. Macklin who then mov ed the adoption of same, seconded by Mrs. Alun. The officers were officially installed by Mrs. Bradley. Mrs. bryant read the motto- How to Eat an Ice Cream Cone. Two musical numbers were played on the piano by Miss Marie Collacutt. We closed by repeating the Lords Prayer in unison.
