Cooks Several Canadian coýking experts, an electronic scanning, unit and a new consumer meat program, are all sharing the limelighit at the Miracle Food Mart Consumer Information Centre in the 1978 Home Show. 1Heading up the list of stars who are appearing this year is Madame Jehane Benoit, one of Canada's top cooking authorities. Madame Benoit, who really needs no introduct- ion to most Canadian cooks, demonstrated how easily a microwave oven fits into today's busy lifestyle. Madame Benoit appeared Friday, Saturday, Sunday, April1 7, 8, 9th and this Friday and Saturday, April 14 'and lSth, Arthur Buck, a retail meat cutting instructor at George Brown College and a con- sultant to-Miracle Food Mart, will also be appearing on the weekends and aach evening during the Show. Arthur will be demonstrating how to wisely choose and cut beef and explaining Miracle's new colour-coded beef program. Arthur's "butcher's tips" will show consumers how to save on their meat dollar and enjoy mouth-watering meals at the samne time. During the week- days, Bileen -Harwood, Carolyui McDonell and Marg Murray will be doing rotating demonstrations. Eileen Harwood is Panasonic's Microwave Oven Home Economist, and will be demonstrating the basics of microwave cooking and dis- cussing microwave cookware and safety. Caroly MeDonell and Marg Murray are Home Economists with the Beef Information Centre and will be dem- onstrating meat cutting and cooking and will be giving out recipes and literature. Also sharing centre-stage at the booth will be an electronic scanning unit. Miracle Food Mart currently has two stores using the scanning system, one in Toronto and one in Guelph. Short demonstrations explaining the system and the ,consumer. benefits wilI' be. made throughout the show with a major demonstration Saturday and Sunday mornings. Miracle Food Mart feels that they have assembled an aIl-star cast for the 1978 Home Show who aIl combine enter- tainment with education, at the Consumer Information Centre. Elliott opened the meeting with a short poem, Spring and Easter followed by the hymn Jesus Christ is Risen Today. Word had been received from the two missions to receive, the Live Love Project, one goes to Haiti and the other to the Northland Pastoral, Charges in Manitoba. Plans were made for the annual U.C.W. Church Service on Ma y 7th. The meeting closed with the Benediction. Tizzard's sermon was a continuation of the series on the Books of the Bible, taken from Ezekral 36:22-38 entitled 'A Change of Heart.' Mrs. John Fonk and Mrs. Allen Foster sang a duet entitled When the Little Lost Sheep Comes Home accompanied by Mrs. K. Wood at the piano. Mr. Leonard Falls was, greeting the friends at the door. Rev, Tizzard welcomed the visitors, also a new family of the community, Mr. and Mrs. W. Kiers to the service. In the evening the Pastoral Hymn Sing was very well attended. The @pvotional was given by Mrs. Bea Jones, Mrs. Peck and Mrs. Desmit, Quartets were sung by the four M's of Newtonville, a duet by Mrs. Tizzard and Mrs. A. Foster. Scott Yeo sang a solo, besides many hymns with Mrs. Wood at the piano and Mr. L. Ransberry with his violin. Rev. Tizard gave the closing benediction. All agreed it was an inspiring eveming of song.
