Mr. and Mrs. Norman Wilson did a spot of babysit- ting this week for each of their 3 daughters, each in their own turn. The pleasures of being grandparents! Our apologies to "Mr." Darryl Robinson for giving him a doctorate in last weeks news budget. Somehow our Mr. looked like a Dr. Sorry to have caused Darryl ail that embarassment of, turning down aIl those young ladies who wanted "physicals" for free. How awful! OBITUARIES' RONALD HICKS An employee at Duplate Canada Ltd. for 14 years, Ronald Hicks of 2 Windsor Ave., Pickering dîed suddenly at Ajax-Pickering General Hospital, Thursday, April 20, 1978. Born January 20, 1938, in Oshawa, he was a son of Mrs. Irene Hicks and, the late Robert Hicks. He was married May 2, 1959 in Pickering. A resîdent of Ajax. for the past 10 years, he formerly lived in Oshawa and Newcastle. He was a member of the UAW Local 222. He is survived by bis wife, the former Donna McLellan of Ajax, his mother, Mrs. Irene Hicks of Newcastle; two daughters, Laurie and Debbie, both at home; two sons, Ronald and Donald, both at home; two sisters, Mrs. Albert Green (Carol) of, Toronto and Mrs. Evelyn Williams of Bowmanville; two brothers, Jack of Toronto and Robert, of Oshawa. Mr. Hicks rested at. the Armstrong Funeral Home, Osbawa. Service was held ini tbe chapel Saturday at 1 p.m. Interment Erskine Cemetery, Pickering. Rev. S.J. Monipetit, Ajax Baptist Cburch,' officiated. CHRISTINE GERTRUDE JACKSON A life member of Trinity United Cburcb, U.C.W. Christine Gertrude Jackson, died in Marnwood Nursing Home, Bowmanville, on Wednesday, April l2th, 1978.î Ill for a short ime, she was in ber 86th year. Daughter of Henry and Susan (Froke) Freeman, she was born in Pokesdown, England and educated la England, On September 16th, 1944, she was married to the late Leslie C. Jackson. 1 A resident of Bowmanville for 70 years, she had previous- ly resided in England. An employee of Goodyear Canada Ltd, before ber marriage, she was a member of Trinity United Cburch. Several nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law, moura ber passing. She was predeceased by Lwo brothers, Harry Freeman,, Bowmanvîlle and Ernie Freeman, St. Catharines. iteverend Arthur Amacher officiated at the funeral services held on Friday at the Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home. Paîl-bearers were Messrs. Harry Gay, Ross Allia, Jack Crago, Dennis Pîckard, Glenn Freeman and Morley Flintoff.
