CONGRATULATIONS - to Evelyn Smith (skip), Mabel Mavin and Gwen Coombes, three lawn bowlers from Bowmanville, who won the Ladies -Triples Tournament in Whitby, last week. In the same competition Norma Brock (skip), Marg Perris and Irene Carson won two out of three Manies. Comipeting in Oshawa for the William Ward Mixed Triples Trophy, three Bowmanville teams won two out of three gamnes: Merv Brock (skip) Norma Brock and Stuart Carson won the prize FOr; high two-game winners; Clarence Oke (skip), R. Mann and Les Langs, and Hlarold Bennett (skip), L. Goodman and Les Coombes were the other two-game winners. The club had il wins out of 15 games. In eight throws Hea- ther broke the old record on the two throws set- ting a new mark of 34.40 in. It marked a great finish toaa successful day as the local club gave out almost 300 programs ta the largest crowd of the season., The executive. and team members wish ta thank the fans for supparting the club on their first Annual Program Day. During the week there will be sessions on fitness, goal- tending,. tactics and teamwork, as welI as tourna- ment play. The players will be grouped according to their age and level of skill.
