Howell and Duty Counsel K. Van Nest. Kevin Browning, 19, R.R. 2, Bowmanville, was cbarged July 1, 'did drive after consuming over .08'. He plead- ed 'guilty'. Consts. Hyracbuk executed a search and 50 grains seized. The Judge told him 'be wasn't mature enougb to bandie a car. You aren't, interested in helping yourself . You are a staggering ,disappoitment to everyone. You are to stay away from Mosport'. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail which can be served at Peterborough under TAP Program. His driving privileges were ' cancelled for two years. He will be on probation for two years and during that time he is to abstain from alcoholîc beve- rages, stay out of licensed premises and observe an il p.m. curfew. On the assault charge the fine was $150 and costs. Brian McKenna, 24, Quebec City and now 299 Dwigbt St., Oshawa. He was cbarged February 18 'did drive after consuming over .08'. He plead- ed 'guilty'. On July 18, he was charged with failing to appear in court and pleaded 'guilty'. Const. Rudman observed him drivîng on Higbway 2 at a high rate of speed. He went across the centre line and tben on to the shoulder after being followed 5 miles. Tests were .12 and . 13. On the f irst charge the fine was $250 and costs, in default 14 days. The second charge brougbt a furtber fine $200 and costs, in default 14 days consecutive. Brian R. Black, 23, R.R. 2, Orono. was charçEed Mav 5 at Bowmanville, 'drove after consuming over .08'. He plead- ed 'guilty'. He was also charged July 31 'whilst ability was impaired by alcohol or drug did drive' and pleaded guilty'. At this time he tried to escape from the Newcastle detachment by climbing out a window and was soon appre- hended. He was represented by G. Pollitt. On the first occasion hie was abusive to the officer. Tests were .14. The Crown asked for a jail termi. He had two previous convic- tions in 1976. He has a drinking problem. On the first charge was sent to jail for 14 days with TAP recommended. The second charge brought 24 days consecutive with license suspension, 6 months on each charge and1 any change the Ministry, of Transport may make. On the escape charge the fine was $200 and costs, in default 20 days consecutive. Bruce Win. Jenkins, 18, Pickering, was charged June 1977 at Oshawa 'did have in his possession one gold coin not exceeding $200. He pleaded 'guilty'. In July 1977 at Bowmanville bie pleaded 'guilty' to causing a dîstur- bance at Soper Creek Park. July 26, 1977 lie failed to appear in court. A fourth charge 'while bound by a probation order made March 1976 did fail to report to officer'. August 30, 1977 failed to appear. He pleaded 'guilty' to the last three charges. The gold coin was pawned for $90. This charge brought a suspended sentence for one year. The incident at Soper Creek brought a fine $150 and costs, in default 15 days. The last three charges each brougbt 10 days consecuti've, with TAP recommended. Richard Devos, 17, pleaded 'guilty' to committing miscbief at Lockharts School on July 21. The damage amounted to under $10. He came to the police station and told them he broke off a î drinking fountain. The Crown said 'this kind of wilful damage needs to be deterred. The Crown feels strongly about acts of vandalism.' Counsel asked that 'it be treated as strictly out of character'. He was placed on probation for six months and a conditional discharge will fol- low if he behaves. J.P. ANDREAS (ANDY) PETERSEN A former employee at General Motors as a tool and die maker who retired in 1968 with 38 years service, J.P. Andreas (Andy) Petersen, died at Oshawa General Hospital Saturday, August 19, 1978. A resident at R.R. 1, Hampton, he was born in Copenbagen, Denmark, May 27, 1906 and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian DON9T POOL I Ig _rj Nr'THE rilD ' AE AFCTI &ERvnCE1 Petersen. He was married to the former Elsa Jonsson in Toronto, April 2, 1932. He came to Canada in 1928 and had lived in Oshawa until 1956 when he moved to Hampton. A member of Nassau Street Gospel Hall, he is survived by bis wife, three sons, Ronald at home, Ian and Peter both of Oshawa and five grandchildren. Mr. Petersen rested at the MeIntosh-Anderson Funeral Home, Oshawa. Service was held in the chapel Wednesday. Interment in Mount Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Arnold Mattice and Mr. Sam Patton officiated.
