Police Report 76 Occurrences At Mosport Durham Regional Police reported 76 occurrences at Mosport this past weekend. Twenty-two people were arrested for offences relating to narcotics, trespassing, possession of a weapon, impaired and intoxicated driving. There were 40 other types of investigations, two involving accidents. Also 14 summary conviction tickets were issued in connection with traffic and liquor violations. Orono Banker Retiring Af ter 42 Years Service At a staff party August lOth, Clare Gunter, retiring m anager of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in Orono, is presented with a silver tray by Vice President and Regional General Manager William Spence. Clare Gunter, the manager of the Orono Branch of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, who will be retir- ing this month, started his banking career 42 years ago in Coîborne. A few moves and many promotions later Clare' took over the Orono Branch where he bas remained for the past 91/ years. During this time be bas been the treasurer of the Chamber of Commerce and an active member in the Orono United Cburcb. On August lOtb the staff of the bank held a dinner party in bonour of the Gunters at the Coach and Four Restaurant. At this time both Clare and bis wife Margaret were presented, witb items of luggage from the staff. Mr. Gunter also receîv- ed a silver tray witb the following inscription on it: "Presented to Clarence L. Gunter by the Ontario Central East Region of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce on bis retirement". The tray was presented by the Vice President, Regional General Manager William Spence. The first celebration of bis retirement will take place on August 3lst when Clare and another Orono businessman, Ed Milîson will leave for an eigbt day hunting trip at Tîkalu Lodge in the Ungava Bay area of Northern Quebec. Clare and Ed will be hunting Caribou and fishing for Artic Char. The Gunters are planning to remnain in Orono after bis retirement, but are planning to take a f ew trips. Paul Kelcey of Oshawa will be filling the spot left by Mr. Gunter at the Orono Branch. He and bis wife are planning ta move to Orono in the very near future. - Orono Times.
