En tertains' Seniors On Tuesday evening,i Nov. 4th the Senior Citizens met for their Christmas dinner and party. A delicious dinner, with ail the trimmings was served by, the Catholic Womens' Association. The senior citi- zens turned out 110 strong and ail expressed their apprecia- tion and delight over the dinner and the expert way it was served. The St. Joseph Girl Guides contributed great- ly in this capacity, looking after our coffee cups and passing the variety of pies. After the dinner a draw was made on a well stocked box of groceries donated by Mrs. Chittick, and won by Mrs. Burley. Our program consisted of music by Senator Coyle and his excellent orchestra. The leader and singer Chuck Kilpatrick playing the Fiat Top Guitar sang a number of popular songs in bis inimitable manner and it wasn't very long before a goodly number were dancing. Ron Carey excellent at the piano and was a real pleasure to listen to. The bass guitar was played by Maxine Winters, who also favored with several vocal solos which were well recei- ved. The steel guitar was played by Peter Owen and added greatly.to the orches- tra, Cliff Manley, an expert violinist who has recently corne to us from Nova Scotia, gave us a number Sf solos as well as playing in the orches- tra. His style was quickly recognized and enjoyed. Mr. Manley will be playing in the Port Hope competitions next week and we wish him well. Miss Marlene Ogar was the special vocalist. Our sincere appreciation goes to these musicians for giving us their services so freely and making our party such a success.
