Be- ing free of our own concerns we are able to use our natural abilities and energies for people and work outside ourselves. And in being con- fident in God he is able to bestow spiritual strength and wisdorn. We becorne useful channels of love, comfort and support. Does this ail sound like pie in the sky and unrealistic? Well, its happening in South Africa arnidst Zulu tribesmen living in the ghetto townships. Rather than brood about the land and village they were forced to leave and complain about the poverty of their present existence, there is a group of Christians who go off to work in the city singing, because, as they say, they "have Zion", the city God, with them wherever they go. Their new spiritual land and home is with God, in their_ minds, and no one and no circumstance can evict thern. So off they go with their heads high just as they rnight have done back in the village. And when they are'on the trains and buses, in the factories and stores their confidence and laughter has an engagîng affect on aill, whites and blacks. Yes, there is resist- ance. But they rneet cynicism with good humor and go out of their way to help others. Rernember the words from St. Paul? "I shail therefore prefer tid find my joy and pride in the very things that are my, weakness;, and then the power of Christ will corne and rest upon me. Hence 1 arn well content for Christ's sake with weakness, comternpt, per- secution, hardship and frust- ration; for 'when I arn weak, then I arn strong."
