6 The Canadian Statesmnan, Bowmanville, December 27, 1978 Celebrate 4IlOth Wedding Anniversary "Kookie Krumble" with several ladies participating. Each lady brings 7 dozen cookies that's 84 in case you're into metric. At the end of the social evening each lady departs homeward with seven dozen cookies - each dozen baked by a different lady. That's how the cookie crumbles! From our community has suddenly emerged a T.V. personality. This week Mrs. Allan IHow,ýe participated on a T.V. program of Oshawa Cable T.V. DB their French program demonstrating the fine art of making Christmas decorations. Only one major problemn - the program was in French and Agnes is definitely English. This chal- lenge was met by having berý frienid who works for the station Mrs. Yolande who is bilingual describe the various manual maneouvres in her native tongu e. This program was shown on Cable T.V. on two different days. We asked the obvious questions - "Were you nervous?" No. Hubby Allan comments, "Anyone who can tbread a needie on T.V. on first attempt can't be nervous". To wbich in our opinion there is no rebuttaL. Was program re- bearsed? No! Agnes had the various tables arranged ahead of tîme knowing what she had in mind and proceeded from there witb extemporaneous comments from the show's Hostess and Yolande McNul- ty. What was the greatest distraction? Tbe bright lights and the excessive beat emanating from then. In Yelverton, Agnes' manual dexterity in various art forms is a well known accomplisb- ment. Pleased to see that ber ligbt is no longer under a bushel and bas been extended to tbe field of T.V. Who knows -perhaps a Star is Born. With Cbristmas a few short days away, it behooves us to express our gratitude to Ye Editor and Staff in their latitude (Bot lassitude) in permitting us space to express (intended for Iast week) On Friday, December l5tb, there were twenty-one-and-a- baif tables in play at tbe eucbre party. The building where around 370 million dollars worth of bogs are sold this year is a very modest narrow three storey building on Dundas St. West. In a somewbat dingy back room 14 dedicated directors from 4 zones in Ontario meet to tbresb out the many problems encountered in running an operation of this magnitude. Met Erv Stinson wbose "basso-profundo" voice daily provides the bog sales and prîces from this humble retreat. This organization is a fine demonstration of what a devoted group of directors and an efficient staff is capable of doing for the pork producers of Ontario at a reasonable cost.
