I M Li -J to sta' (lntended for last week) On Christmas Eve the En- nîskillen-Tyrone Pastoral Charge united in a service of lights and music. Mr. David Craig led the service while Mrs. Elinor Brent presided at the organ. Candle lighters and narrators were: Betty Youngman, 'Peter Craig, Karen Vaneyk, Susan Pleasance, Jimmy Woodley, Tim Southwell, Brian Haines and Debbie Roy. Music was provided by Tyrone Choir and soloist bornaý Davey. A large congregation, of enthusiastic participants enjoyed a happy evening of fellowship. The Christmas meeting of Tyrone U. C.W. was held at the Acres Restaurant on Decem- ber l3that 6:30 p.m. Mrs. John Vaneyk welcomned ail mem- bers and guests and read a beautiful prayer-poemn before our meal. After a sumptuous buffet, Mrs. Gordyn Brent led in the singing of several carols. The scripture was read by Mrs. Douglas Southwell. A story, "The Three Wise Womnen of the East", was very well presented in skit form by Mrs. Tom Pleasance, Mrs. Adrian Haines and Mrs. Aldin Hoar. The devotional period closed in prayer. An evening of visiting, euchre and Christmas quizzes followed. OBITUAI'R'Y OBITUARY ROY POTTER The death occurred sudden- ly, on Thursday, December 2lst, 1978, of Roy Potter, aged 32. at his residence. Son of the late borne and Ada Potter, he was born in Bowmanville and educated in Bowmanville Public and High Schools. He was married July 27th, 1968, to Patricia Deboo. A resident of Bowmanvjlle his entire life, he had been employed at General Motors for 16 years. He was a memnber of St. Paul's United Church. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Patricia,ý two daughters Sonya and Joella, a son Joshua, brothers and sisters, Grace Woodward, May Whitefield, Hazel Connel- ly, Katie Tomlînson, Howard, George, Reta Junkin, Marie Cole, Evelyn Carswell, Betty Vanderveer, borna Cruick- shank, 'Lola McMaster, Wil- fred, Clifford and Donald. He was predeceased by a brother Bill and a sister Donna. Funeral services were held on Saturday at the Morris Funeral Chapel with the Reverend E. Schamerhornr, officiating. Mrs. Albert Cole presided at the chape] organ. Many floral tributes and also donations to the Heart Fund and Diabetic Assoc- iation were received in his memnory. Interment Bowm a n vile Cemetery. OBITUARY BERTHA MASON ROBERTS A resident on High Street, Bowmanville for 50 years, Bertha Mason Roberts, pas- sed away in Oshawa General Hospital, on Wednesday, Dec- ember 27 h,' 1978, following a hredy s illness She was in her 93rd year. Mr.Robert was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William John Mason. Rom ,in Manchester England, she was educated in the Manchester schools. On April 27th, 1914, she was married to Herbert Oliver Roberts. She had been a resîdent at Extendicare Nursing Centre, Oshawa, over three. years. A loving wifeý and mother, she was a memnber of the Salvation Army. Survivors are her four children, Mrs. O. Elford
