this team as every player not only knew what his assign- ment was but also put forth 100 per cent in executing his duties. What ensued was a fast paced exciting game in which neither team was able to score in the first period. The deadlock continued for the first seven minutes of the middle frame until Streets- ville was able to garner a goal on a 3 on 1 break. The two teams continued to put forth a maximum effort into the third period and played 18 minutes more of scoreless hockey. Streetsville moved into a 2 goal lead with five minutes remaining only to have the margin again cut ta one when Randy MacDonald scored for the Realtors with assists going to Rick Simpson and Stan Greenham. Needing a win in order to advance in the playdowns the Van Dyk crew pulled the netminder in favor of an extra forward for the last two minutes but were unable to capitalize on the advantage. Final score Streetsville 2, Bowmanville 1. The second game saw a great improvement in the play of the Realtors over what they had exhibited in some of their recent contests. They showed a good deal of desire and spark throughout the game. It is also heartening to note that during both games they Third star for the All-Stars went to Bill Meaks of Stouffville Clippers who is shown here receiving a wallet from Tom Mangan. Scott's Colonels Toros Lose Consolation Final at Stayner Dec. 14th, the Scott's Colonels travelled to Lindsay for regular league play, Having lost to Lindsay earlier in the year, our team returned the favor by defeating Lindsay 4 - 2. It was one of our best efforts of the year to date, with all players putting their full effort into the game. Scoring for Bowmanville were, Garth Stone, 2, Chris Hall and Brad Carnegie 1 each. Assists to Mark Trip, Jeff Laird and Brad Carnegie. Dec. 16th, the Oshawa Triple A team came to Bowmanville and defeated our Scott's Colonels 6- 2. Although putting in a good effort, we could not get our game together until the 3rd period, drew fewer penalties than their opponents. Perhaps they are going to start to put it together again and get back to the skating, passing game that has proven successful for them in the past. For the last couple of weeks- they have been in a slump as far as their basic patterns of play have been concerned and it is to be hoped that the Streetsville game is their first step on the road to recovery. and by then it was too late. Scoring for Scott's Colonels were Brad Carnegie and Gartl Stone with Tim Smith assisting on each. Dec. 23, the Whitby team visited Bowmanville, and after a very good game were able to leave with a 3 - 2 win. This was a very close game al] the way, with the game being tied at 2 each until the latter part of the 3rd period when Whitby got the go ahead goal. Scoring for Scott's Colonels were Brad Carnegie and Garth Stone, assists to Eric Jansens and Brad Carnegie and Garth Stone. During the Christmas break the Scott's Colonels travelled to Stayner, Ont. to take part in the loth Annual Tournament there. Even a very heavy snowfall on the first night did not keep anyone away and all team members were present. We lost our first game of the series to Streetsville in a very hard played game. The Scott's Colonels played even with this team, right up until the 3rd period with each team scoring 3 goals. However, with only 4 minutes left to play in the game, the roof appeared to fall in on our boys as the Streetsville team scored 3 unanswered goals, and went on to a 6 - 3 victory. Our second game was against Lindsay, and team we had just defeated two weeks ago. Although outplayed a considerable amount of the time, outstanding goal tending by Burke Lush held our team in the game and allowed the Colonels to take a 3 - 2 victory. Scoring for Bowmanville were Brad Carnegie, Garth Stone, and assists to Jeff Laird. With the above win, we were able to move directly into the final for the Consolation in the "A" division. Unfortunately, we came up against a very powerful Bramalea team. This team was a triple A team, and according to their coach, played the best hockey they had ever played. Although defeated in this game 12 - 0 by Bramalea, all our boys put their very best effort into the game, and even in losing showed their maturity by being very good sportsmen. Goaltending for this tourna- ment was shared by Darrin Bunker and Burke Lush, and although defeated in two games, both played very well,. and had to make repeated hard saves. All 15 boys, members of the Scott's Colonels are to be congratulated on their fine behavior and sportsmanship an this tournament, and were fine representatives of our town. tawn.
