For the first time in the five years since tbey've lived there, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Fice flew home from their winter retreat in Fort Myers, Florida to spend the holiday season with their loved ones. Mr. Fiee said the whole gathering was bis children's idea. He didn't think hie would get bis wife Ida on the plane but she managed hier first airpiane ride just fine. The Fices spent an enjoyable Christmas at their "4summer" home at 109 Waverley Road with their three sons and their wives,' qeven grandchildren. three great grancdehildi-en anci several friends. Mr-. Fiee said at one point Christmas uay there were 23 people celebrat- ing ini bis re'creation room. Altnough glad of the snow over the bolidays, Mr. and Mtrs. Fice will be returning to Florida's warmth and sun- shine next week. OBITUARY HazeFaustina Myles The death occurr.ed on Tuesday, December 26th, 1978, of Hazel Faustina Myles, aged 79, ini Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville, following a short illness. Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Walters, she was bora and educated in Orono, where she resided most of bier life except for a short period ini Toronto. She was married December 12tb, 1922 to Calvin Leslie Myles. A devoted wife and mother, she was a member of Orono United Church. Surviving are lier husband Calvin, sons Donald W., and Bruce L. Myles, three grand- ehildren and two great grand- childi-en. Reverend Basil Long of- ficiated at the funeral services held on Tbursday at the Morris Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Albert Cole presided at the. chapelorgan. Among the many floral tokens reeeived in her memory were offerings from tbe Orono I.O.O.F. No. 436, Newcastle Public Sehool Staff, and Receiving and Shipping Depts. of Goodyear Canada Ltd. Spring Interment Orono Cemetery. DOUGLAS RICHARD CURL The sudden deatb, due to a heart attack, of Douglas Richard Curl, aged 69, occurr- ed on Sunday, December 24th, 1978 at Oshawa General Hospital. Son of the late Richard and the late Mary Ann (Cleland) Curl, bie was born and educated at Zephyr. He was married April 19, 1952 to Mary Sedore. inesamg in Bowmanville from 1947, hie had moved te Oshawa in May 1978. He had been employed at Goodyear Canada Ltd., Bow- manville Plant, for 25 years, retiring in April 1972. A previous member of the I.O.O.F., Bowmanvillelbe attended the Bowmanville Baptist Church. Left to mourn bis passing are bis wife Mary, daughteî Reta, (Mrs. Harry Brown) 'Port Perry, Bonnie, (Mrs. Ron Seriver), Oshawa, step-son Don Green, Oshawa, nine grandchildren, and six great grandehildi-en.
