Recently a banner belonging to the patrol was found by the Lions Club and it was displayed Monday night during the Lions' regular meeting. Appropriately, the guest speaker at the meeting was Charlie Carter, a past president and honorary member of the Bowman- ville Lions. He helped organize the patrol. Shown with the banner from left to right are: Glenn Fry, a former member of the safety patrol; Lions Club President Jim Rickard and Charlie Carter. The Bowmanvillé Lions Club wélcoméd honorary member Charlie Carter to théir meeting Monday night. Mr. Carter was visiting thé Lions as their guést speaker. Charlie Carter was président of thé Bowmanville, Lions Club during 1945-46. Hé also becamé District Gover- nor of thé club and was first editor of thé A3 magazine. Communicatipns was one of thé things thé former président stresséd, in his speech to thé Bowmanville Lions. Hé noted that magazines_ published by thé club should be distributed to placés such as doctors' waiting rooms and bus ter- minais so that thé général public can follow thé work of thé club and also benefit from thé informative articles which appear in thé magazines.
