Fran Cowans Cowans Totals Spencer lst Gaine Well by looking at the standings of the end of the schedule, it would appear that there will be just Frank's vs Firth's in the finals, but let me tell you don't count Spencer's and Cowan's out just yet because if you were at the games on Sunday morning you certainly would see why 1 say this. In the first game of the morning we saw Spencer's upset John Osborne's Frank's by a score of 5-2. Don Crossey had his goalie Scott Burgess, plus every player up for this game, which just might be an Points 26 25 il 10 Top Ten Scorers Goals Assists .k 26 22 .k 19 16 22 12 7 21 il 12 s 10 12 13 8 12 9 10 9 4 14 Goalies: Goals For 96 94 40 18 58 à9 Points 48 35 34 28 23 22 21 21 19 18 Against 58 66 50 34 84 109 indication of what they will do in the semi finals against Firth's next Sunday. The scoring for Spencer's was done by Howie Ormiston with a pair, and singles going to Hooper, Colwell and Luxton, the assists went to Glen Rice and Nowlan with two each, and singles to Ormiston, Hall, Colwell and Luxton. Good Playoff Type Game Now as for Frank's, if they continue this type of hockey they just might be hanging up their skates a little earlier this year. But I'm quite sure John Osborne and his team whîll be doing everything possible to avoid this. Their scoring was done by, Steve Hogarth and Hopkin's with one each. Better nip up Frank's. 2nd Game This 1 must say looked like the final game of the playoffs, because ail through the game it was no more than a goal apart at anytime, until Mike Cornell at the 16:58 mark tied the game with a big goal for Firth's making it 3-3 then at the 19:05 mark Mike really became the hero of the Firth's squad when he potted the wînning goal making it 4-3 Firth's. Other scorers for Firth' s were J. Baker, and Rick' Radimaker, with one ~ieie.-The equally important assists went to J. Baker, Gary Wilson, and John Colwell with two each and singles going to Rick Radimaker. Real Good Game. Cowan's were missing four of their good players whiph could have meant the cf ference in the game, but al in alI the team played a superb, game throughout, and as I mentioned earlier in the writeup keep your eye on Cowan's and Spencer's in the semi finals. Scoring for Cowan's were Osborne, S. Brown and Shackelton with one each, assists going to T. Baker a pair, singles to Abright, Clarke and Wind. Keep this up and you'll be in the finals. Good luck to all four teams.
