Machines in this photo were powered by Durham College students who en- tered the annual bed race held during the Durham College winter carnival week. The race was held Tuesday, Feb. 20, beginning at the Oshawa City Hall and it covered an entire city block. Two beds entered the contest and the team that is out in front in this photo was the winner. Hall journeyed to Bancroft. The weather was bitterly cold but the welcome they received was exceedingly warm. During the meeting they exemplified the Royal Scarlet Degree for the eleven brothers who were exalted into the Royal Scarlet Chap- ter.
