Newcastle Nursery School and Day Care The past week, the chiidren, staff and parents volunteers took advantage of Police Week to take a trip to our O.P.P. facility. Everyone inspected Mrs. Yarrow's office, the celis, the dispatch office, and the finger-printing apparatus - it works! The children also tried out the motorcycle and had a turn at the cruiser's siren. (Hope none of the neigbbours was sleeping!) It was as successful outing, thanks to Constable Schultz and staff, Mrs. Yarrow, Mr. Powell, and Mr. Hardîn. Many thanks also to Mr. Piels, Mrs. Wiliams, Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. McArthur for giving their time to chaperone this trip. We wound up the morning by celebrating J.J. Piels' fifth birthday. Anglican Church News At the service at St. George's Anglican Churcb on Sunday, Rev. Allan Haldenhy spoke on the theme of Ascension Day, Christians have a joy and confidence at this season of the year that should be with them in al their daily living. The Young People had their business meeting on Sunday afternoon and the Feilowship Club met at night. The Car Rally is dune 10, starting at the Parish Hall at 2 p.m. This is a great family, event, ieading to a picnic area. The entry fee is two dollars. Bring your own lunch and picnic equipment. You might win a nice prize for foilowing directions correctly. Visitors are weicome. St. Georges Anglican Church Women met on Wed- nesday evening to finalize plans for their Salad Supper on dune 6th. Mrs. Margaret Eliiott, Pickering guest speaker, was introduced by Mrs. Annabelie Rickard. Mrs. Eliiott has served as President of the U.C.W. worked with the Y.M.C.A. andWomen's Inter Church Council.
